I can barely describe what this album means to me. Every song is perfect pop. Sarah Shannon has been described as a cartwheeling Harriet Wheeler on helium... that's an exaggeration, but that might give you a hint as to the magnificent pop quality of her voice. The guitars are part Popguns, amazing twin guitar pop riffs, total C-86 jangle pop. Boy/girl vocal harmonies, wry lyrics about how you should like, uh, live your life. This album is in my all time top 5. Put 'I Can't Stop Smiling' on a tape for the target of your affections... see if they get the deeper meaning... see if it worked for you like it worked for me. :)

Bought because I heard drug girls, loved that but found the rest of the album a massive disappointment. Pedestrian 90's jangle, reallly very ordinary, although the vocals are rather charming. Having said that "wake up I'm leaving" does have flashes of beauty. I only write this to keep the rating in check.
