Disappointing effort with very superficial "updates" that do little to enlighten or educate. Jackson does his usual thing but is even less informative than usual.

This is *the best* of all the so-called beer guides available, bar none. Michael Jackson is world-recognized and well-respected, having actually earned his reputation as an authority on beer (unlike some johnny-come-lately beer authors who write their own claim to fame). Be sure and check out other Jackson works such as _The New World Guide to Beer_ and _The Beer Companion_ as they are also highly recommended.

Mr. Jackson gives the reader a taste of many of the finest beers in the world without alot of over critical snobbery. His reviews are informative and to the point. This book is a must in any beer lover's library.
