Officially licensed by Eurocopter, the full size helicopter manufacturer, Silverlit’s versatile R/C Vortex has been favourably reviewed by the specialist model press. This superb scale chopper incorporates 3-channel digital proportional radio control, combined with an electronic heading lock piezo gyro system for exceptional performance and stability. Significantly larger than Silverlit’s original infrared micro choppers, this latest specification gyro helicopter is literally twice the overall length, making it far more suitable for flying outdoors in calm conditions. Furthermore Silverlit have thoughtfully included an innovative flight trainer that attaches to the undercarriage, to make take offs and landings much smoother and safer for beginners. The transmitter incorporates replaceable control stick caps to restrict their movement whilst learning how to manoeuvre the helicopter, and individual flight trims. Featuring a flashing red power indicator and bright blue switchable LED searchlight. The attractive Vortex-Eurocopter gift box includes a fully assembled helicopter supplied ready-to-fly, complete with a pre-installed 3-channel proportional radio control system, an informative flight manual and demonstration DVD. Suitable for both beginners and enthusiasts, steer the helicopter by simply moving the transmitter joy stick left or right, whilst operating the throttle to take off, hover and land. Stable and fun to fly indoors in a sports hall size space, or outdoors in calm conditions. The Vortex is remarkably robust, made of impact resistant rigid plastic and foam. The helicopter incorporates a powerful lithium polymer battery and will fly for up to ten minutes, whilst recharging from the UK mains transformer provided in approximately half an hour. The Silverlit Vortex chopper is available on band A or B, to allow two different models to be flown together. Great fun but rotor assembly broke on third flight and cannot track down any spare parts - therefore makes it a very expensive toy.

bought this for my hubby, he advises that it is difficult to fly and needs perfect conditions (no wind!) but he enjoys the challenge.

A "grown-up" fun filled item which provides entertainment and skill challenges. Only issue is paint comes off with minor crashes, especially the black??
