I was not very pleased with the item as it arrived in bad condition the first time, but the seller resolved this problem by sending out a replacement with a new glue gun. The new glue gun was OK, but then when I tried to use it, it just simply broke. It was not strong enough to move liquid plastic, to squeeze it onto something out of the gun, even after half an hour of heating, but the glue would continuously leak out as very fine lines nonstop. I did not bother asking for a replacement again as I did not wish to keep wasting more money on postage, as this money is not refunded by the seller.

Poor quality Glue Gun 13 Jan 2012
By Justme
This Glue Gun didn't even complete the first job i had for it... After leaving to heat for a good 10 minutes the trigger mechanism snapped internally on the first squeeze rendering it useless..
Because I had it sitting on my shelf for a couple of months after buying, the retailer said to contact silverline directly. They only have an online form requesting you to send it back but ONLY if you registered the product with them in the first place.
Obviously I am not going to waste more time and money posting at my expense back to them, so live and learn - You get what you pay for..

Rubbish bit of kit! 12 Jan 2012

I have one of these. Not for much longer! I got it to replace my previous Bosch 'manual' one. The latter made my thumb ache from pushing the glue stick into the gun. I wanted one with a trigger which would make the glue feed easier - or so I hoped.
I was mildly disappointed when it first arrived - the packaging was broken and had a hole in it and the glue sticks and the folding rest for the gun were missing. I discovered that the wire rest from my old Bosch gun fitted perfectly so my only 'beef' with the supplier was the missing glue sticks. I took the matter up with the supplier who offered to replace the entire package. I explained about my wire stand being O.K. and they agreed to send me some glue sticks - F.O.C.. This saved me having to pay postage on the return of my goods. When the glue sticks arrived I was delighted that there was a 'lifetime' supply provided - far more than the original 'pack' would have included.

Yesterday I was using the Silverline glue gun for probably the second time since I've had it. The first time I found that glue leaked out of places it shouldn't and that the glue created a considerable amount of 'stringing'. Fine strands of glue were everywhere, making it impossible to do a neat job. It was very messy. Considerable pressure is required to get glue out of the gun and it creaks alarmingly when more pressure is applied to the trigger!
Yesterday, the glue gun nearly went out of the window. I was using it to locate some drawer fronts on a cabinet - a job I had found my old Bosch one perfect for. It was almost impossible to persuade a bead of glue to stay in position on a drawer front long enough to achieve the job in hand, and what with the 'stringing' and not being able to relocate the gun in the charger easily (if at all) the job turned into a nightmare. The gun cools down almost instantly if not returned to the charger immediately. Unfortunately my old Bosch gun had been disposed of when I received the 'posh' new one by Silverline. I won't make that mistake again!
After considerable amounts of swearing I managed to complete my project, no thanks to Silverline - I won't buy another one of their products - ever!
