This Silverline head torch gives a choice of either an ultra-bright white light provided by the low power consuming 6 LEDs, or the long-distance beam provided by the Krypton bulb.

I've owned 4 of these and every one soon developed a fault with the switch which sticks at on or off. This isn't a mechanical fault so can't be fixed.

I was given this as a gift...stocking filler...
Its a given that a LED torch strapped to your head is going to be bright and handy.
I used it to re organise my attic and at somepoint during the day part of the strap broke.seing as it was pretty tight on my head it must have broke when i took it off for a tea break. I did find it slightly..cumbersome?.. if your usinging this whilst using say a dust mask or safety glasses it could be uncofortable.
you'l probably be alright if its just so you can use both hands but if your planning to use it outdoors i would buy something specifically designed for the outdoors. and be gentle.

On the face of it the light looks ok , but the performance is somewhat below expectations if you hope to have a really BRIGHT light --wouldn't buy this again

I don't rate this
It took me ages to get it working- inserting and reinserting batteries. It worked for half an hour thern zilch- new batteries still nothing- RUBBISH product. Read more

ok for walking the dog
I bought this head lamp for doing the 3 peaks challenge. I had to climb Scafell Pike during the night and this lamp hardly gave off enough light for this sort of night experience. Read more

Reallyuseful
I didn't think this would be as useful as its been. The lights are really bright and the torch is as comfortable as something can be perched on the top of your head
