Does the job, and good value for money. Constructed using heavy duty plastic casting that's only lightly marked after 6 months regular use on two chainsaws but its probably wise to treat it with care, its not cast iron. The settings and controls are basic, but they do work. It doesn't come with instructions, but its fairly intuitive to see how the chain slots into the guide and then locks into place for each cut and if you are used to sharpening chainsaws manually you'll know the angle settings. Unlike the more expensive sharpeners the chain is moved along manually, and has to be tightened into place for each sharpening action but once this has been done a few times it gets to be automatic. Glad I bought it.

I found this product excellent value for money.It has already paid for its self.So simple to use and very quick to sharpen the blades.The blade can be sharpened in Fifteen minutes,and you can be off cutting again.

This is an excellent little tool for the money. I have been sharpening saw chains by hand for years and this is more accurate and far less effort than the file and produces a chain that cuts like new. The item now comes with a brief multilingual manual (other reviews mention there not being one) and from out of the box I had my first chain sharpened in under an hour. Fully expect to have that down to 15 minutes from chain off to chain on next time. The tool has all the stops you need to hold the chain in place and each link can be clamped, sharpened and moved on in a few seconds. Yes the casing is plastic and the power cable is too short (use an extension !) but chain sharpening is a comparatively light duty task anyway so I don't see any reason to think it won't last long enough to justify the price.
