I bought the router bits to use with the Dremel router attachment to write some lettering on a wooden plaque. They are not proper router bits - have a spiral pattern rather than cutting edges & tend to get hot & burn the wood. Had to buy a dremel router bit (at twice the price of this kit) to finish the job. Don't really know what they would be good for but as I have found with other Silverline tools, you get what you pay for.

These are ok, but the cutting edges are neither sharp nor deep enough to really cut through wood like a router. Instead, think of them more as coarse files. However, they're much cheaper than other router bits, so if you're looking for something to carve very soft wood, they may be worth a try before spending more money on something else.

I have used these as burrs (rotary files). Not very hardwearing when I used them on softish metals such as copper, but at this price you cant expect top quality steel. Should last OK on wood and plastic and will cut faster than diamond coated burrs.

I am a great admirier of silverline products but this one is a big let down HSS router bits !!!! dont make me laugh i only used the 2 largest ones to cut out some upvc window frame... Read more
