This unit arrived with a two pin plug so the first job was to cut the power cable and add a UK three pin plug.

Once this was done, the unit failed to power up. I noticed that there is a cur out switch under the top cover which kills the power when changing the speed. The switch is operated by a very weak plastic part which had broken into two sections. It unbolts very easily so applying a little glue and leaving overnight sorted the issue - I am now up and running.

The rest of the unit is OK for the money, the main parts are well built but it is let down by poor quality plastic. Other than the cur out plunger, the drill guard is poor and doesn't align very well with the main unit.

Drill press 17 Oct 2010

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this product considering it's price.
Came well packed and like most machine tools coated with a sticky presevative.
Easy to assemble but of course one must remember the old adage "you get what you pay for".

Probably cheapest around. Very flimbsy construction and my casing dented causing fouling of the belt, and a switch broken inside annoying! Ok for light use I would suggest spending more if for serious tasks but for light stuff ok.

This is an excellent product for the money. Some of the paint finish not quite as good as expected, but this does not detract from the use and workings. Prompt delivery service.

Ok for the money, but inaccurate and wobbly.
How much tool should you expect for 50 quid? Not a great deal I guess. There's a fair amount of 'heft' in this thing - it won't blow away - so I was kind of expecting more than... Read more
