Instructions are basic, but everything was present. The item was fairly easy to build: Build the X sections first, noting that the correct orientation is observed ready for the middle crossbeam. Attach the cross beam and then attach the two lower side supports. You don't have to go mental on tightening up the nuts. Using the item is a synch, chuck your logs on and saw away. The only improvement I've made is to take a piece of 50mm x 50mm x 1220mm, sawn it diagonally along the length and placed one of the lengths in the V of the upper part of the stand, so when your chain saw goes through the log a bit tastier than what you anticipated, you wont hit the metal frame of the stand. Once the piece of wood has worn out, use the other piece you got from sawing the 50mm x 50mm diagonally.
Logs are gripped well and I've had no problems with slipping.
