Product arrived on time and put into my bag without much attention, travelled to my expat location and gave as gift. The recipient pointed out it seems to have a problem and I embarrassingly put on my glasses for a close inspection. In short, the silver coating was shoddily applied and there were many areas that exposed copper. It looked like it had been worn for several years with scratches. Given I had left the UK at this time, if I had noticed the extremely poor condition of what appeared as low quality factory seconds then I would have just suffered the loss and thrown it in the bin.
I know this was not expensive jewelry but amazon needs to pay attention to giving customers confidence in using their services not having to worry about being ripped off in this manner. Good business is built on trust and quality assurance.
The picture of the product looks good and that's all I wanted. I paid just shy of 20 quid to amazon to get embarrassed and ripped off. It was the worst of 44 purchases made using amazon on the trip.
I can only warn other customers of this experience - it is a real shame
