Product Description

Reflective silver window film is a solar control film and a privacy film. As a solar control window film the reflective surface repels solar heat and glare by over 80% and also stops over 99% of harmful UV rays. It is these rays that cause your furniture to fade. As a privacy window film the film will provide a one way mirror effect allowing you to see out whilst giving a mirrored appearance looking into the properly. The film works by reflecting the brighter side so is great for external facing glazing where the sunlight is usually always brighter than the artificial light but doesn't always work correctly at night time or on internal partitioning. The side that you want to be able to see through to needs to be at least 4:1 brighter than the room you don't want people to be able to see into. All reflective films work in this way there is no film that does not work in this way. INSTALLATION: The film can be installed using a solution of 1 pint of water mixed with 1 teaspoon of Johnsons Baby Shapoo or washing up liquid, a sharp knife, glass scraper, squeegee and some lint free cloth. The film is self adhesive so no messy glue is needed and the adhesive is covered with a protective backing liner. The film is fitted internally and has a scratch resistant coating.

hurrah! i can now stand at my patio doors and bang the missus and no one can see, and if she's not there i can have "one on one" time with myself while looking at the neighbors, without the worry of them calling the police again

I had some blokes in doing the bathroom, and I thought I'd get them to put this on a window in the living room. After all, most bathrooms have windows, and they have to do sort of similar things all day anyway, right? Yeah. Right.

One of my windows overlooks a balcony where Jays feed, and although they're pretty used to seeing me, I thought it would be better if I could watch them without fear of scaring them off.

So I asked the fateful question (in a slightly-more-cockney than normal way that I was all too aware of): "Do you fancy doing me a favour, mate...?" They agreed readily. Too readily; little did they know the horrors that lay ahead of them, all wrapped up in an innocent brown tube...

It started brightly - as we unpacked the material, I jovially joked about nearly putting it on the window the wrong way round (I had contemplated doing it myself from the comfort of being inside the front room, rather than the cold windiness of the balcony) as I made them a cup of tea. They dutifully chuckled at the right places and did Harry Redknapp noises at how easy it was all going to be: "Ohh yes, this'll go on no trouble. No trouble at all.". How easy it all seemed back then, how our laughter came so readily to us. We were enjoying each other's company. Life was fun.

The first signs that things weren't going to go as smoothly as anticipated came just after we took the roll of coating out, and a strange bit of plastic fell out. It resembled an ice-scraper, but was small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. "Has anyone seen anything like an applicator?" Jamie asked, half hoping that someone would magically pull out something that actually looked fit for purpose. "I think that's it!" sniggered the other one.

Ok people, before I purchased my mirror tints I read pretty much every review left, i was especially looking out for the negative reviews which I must admit wasn't much. I realised the ones that left negative reviews are the ones who probably had trouble placing them on, and for those who didn't realise that people can see in when dark outside and light inside -this is not because of faulty products.

It took 3 of us to place these tints on our very large patio X 2 windows -1.5 meters by 2 meters. We cleaned our windows, we wet it, we peeled it , we placed it/lined it up and trimmed it and then squeezed out every single drop of water left. it took a while as our squeegy wasn't that great, we then used a window scraper but with a cloth on top DO NOT use without a cloth as the tint will tear. We had someone outside telling us where the water bubbles were and person inside squeezing it out, its hard to see the bubbles from inside. Word of advice do it in the daylight. By the time we done our 2nd window it was dark and the next morning we saw more bubbles and too late to squeeze out but after a few days they don't look too bad.

3 of us had never done this, we just saw videos and we got great results. Item was delivered in 2 days.

I am happy with my windows. Now my living room has 1.5 x 2m mirror if i decide not to draw my curtains. It's exactly like a mirror a very, very large mirror when dark outside.

If I have to have moan about something it would be that when it gets dark outside we can't see out at all even when I get close and put my face to the glass it very hard to see because of our mirror reflection..

I have waited a week before writing this review, to see whether problems arose - but none so far. It did arrive late - but that was Royal Mail's fault, and when notified the seller quickly sent one by special courier, which was impressive service. Fitting it is not trivial, and definitely a two person job; but the instructions are clear, and after following them carefully, we managed to get the film put on without any major difficulty. The results are remarkable - you really cannot see in from the outside, except when it is really dark outside and there is a light on inside. It does make the room significantly darker, but we are very pleased with the result; and from the outside, it does not look like a mirror at all. Good product, good service.

Good for privacy film cannot see in during the day, but can see in at night with internal lights on. Easy to fit as long as you follow the Utube demonstration videos.
