4.0 out of 5 stars Bargain 17 April 2013

The task I had given myself was to fit floor to ceiling mirrored doors to one wall in our newly constructed walk in wardrobe-so we could have storage and use the rest of the room as a mini gym.
I had priced up ifor the job in homebase/b & q/builders merchants and various online suppliers/manufacturers, and even with promotional discounts, they worked out a lot more expensive for the same items.
Planning the number of doors required was easy, I would recommend getting the "how to" leaflet from homebase if you are unsure. The only confusion I suffered was from deciding if I required spacer blocks etc.
I was a little apprehensive about fitting them- I was concerned about not having the tracks square and the doors twisting on the tracks. I shouldn't have worried - very easy to fit in a couple of hours single handed.
I first assembled the shelf unit, marked and cut out for skirtings, then fastened the shelving to the wall. Then I fastened the hanging rails to the shelves and the walls-making the whole structure far more sturdy.
At this point, i would remove the skirtings on the two walls the doors are going between. Mark on the floor and ceiling where thetracks will go - tape measure and long spirit level required. cut the bottom track to size (fit wall to wall) and screwed directly to the floorboards-or fit a thin wooden batton underneath to raise the track away from carpet and allow for more adjustment in a higher ceilinged room.
Then cut the top track, mark and drill holes, plug and screw the track ideally to the ceiling trusses.
You are then ready to start fitting the doors, Start with the doors going to the back(in my case the two outer doors). offer the door upto the top track, push into the track, undo the adjuster and push into the bottom track.

Really easy to fit and they look really good. i have actually split them into 2 separate units for both alcoves. I built some stud work along the sides just to give them a little added strength. Delivery was really quick and good communication with the seller.

I am extremely delighted with these sliding doors. I needed three sets of doors but initially only order one set in case I was disappointed etc. The delivery company rang to confirm delivery would be two weeks which was not an issue. The delivery company also said they would contact me closer to the delivery date to confirm delivery time within a two hour slot. The day before delivery they rang to confirm delivery time to the nearest hour. On the day of delivery they rang to confirm delivery to a five minute slot; you cannot better that. The goods arrived to the minute of when was agreed; how good is that? Once delivered, the goods were triple checked by the delivery people for faults and completeness; I was then given a further ten days to confirm that the goods were entirely acceptable which they were; sublime performance.

The doors were delivered shrink-wrapped with all edges protected by polystyrene sleeves. I had already formed the opening (2260 mm high). I cut the bottom and top tracks to size (10 minutes tops); screwed both tracks in place double checking/ shimming the bottom track so as to ensure it was level. I also ensured that the top track aligned with the bottom track (10 minutes tops). All fixing screws were provided by the sliding door manufacturer. I then placed the rear door on the rear track and slid the top guide into the top track (two minutes tops), and then placed the front door on the front track and slid the top guide into the top track (again two minutes tops). The doors need to be hooked under the top track canopy; a very clever safety feature to stop the doors out of the track.
