This is a delightful ring! The Amethyst faceted heart is a lovely shade of purple with a nice faceted cut. The zoom function on the product picture above does not do it justice, so I have uploaded a close-up photo of the ring, which shows the Amethyst in better detail an also shows the marcasite structures set into the silver in more detail (the various shaped studs that create the pattern across the surface of the ring).
The ring has a nice chunky appearance without being overly large or tacky. The size of ring, pattern of marcasite and cut of the Amethyst complement each other nicely to create a very attractive ring.
Interestingly, the title of the ring "Marquesite and Amethyst" is just a fancy misspelling of marcasite which, when used in jewellery is actually Pyrite. This practice dates back to the ancient Greeks and is what gives the ring that kind of medieval appearance.
Looks great, feels great and is admired every time I wear it. I am really glad I treated myself in the sale!!
