  • Product Description

Silva EX Step Pedometer is compact, lightweight, easy to use and features a new, contemporary design with warm colour accents on a glossy white body. A newly designed robust clip secures the unit to the belt/trousers in the best possible way, but just in case, thereÕs a safety lanyard to prevent accidental loss. The unique built-in filter function prevents the unwanted recording of occasional non-related movement during a walk, jog or day at work. The most basic model, EX Step, accurately counts the number of steps.

I bought the ex step pedometer because all the others I had falsely recorded steps - this one does'nt, so is an accurate counter. now I know exactly how many steps I've taken, so am happy with that. Just wish I'd gone for one that converts into distance walked.

Only for exercise 28 Mar 2011
    By Ewan
I bought this pedometer to give me an incentive to move about more to recover after an operation, but that did not work very well. Since I can not walk very far, I wanted to gradually increase my walking around the house and garden. this pedometer, however, does not count all steps taken since it has a 6 step delay after you stop. I counted manually and the pedometer counted approx. 60 steps out of 175 walked when I had stopped several times. Silva products are good quality but I wish they would make a pedometer without the step count delay. This one is probably perfect for continuous walks and jogging rounds, since it counts accurately when walking continuously after the first 6 steps.

I acquired this pedometer and read the manual trying in vain to set the device up according to it.
I eventually found that NONE of the functions mentioned in the manual apart from counting the steps were available.
It is not possible for instance to set up the length of your stride, to swap metric and imperial measurements, to calculate calories as the manual suggests.
So, you are left with just the number of times the pendulum (which measures the steps you do) has moved.
The device won't tell you any more than what you already know: you have been walking!
Don't buy this device or you will be disappointed.
