5.0 out of 5 stars If you are a Tolkien fan then you need to read this book, 12 May 2003
The Silmarillion is an amazing book that shows you a world that you would have never imagined by just reading The Lord of The Rings. This book tells you of the creation of the earth and of the Valar or angels per-say and how their music shaped the earth and the beginnings of evil and the evil Valar (Melkor)...who could resenble Satin. This book gets into the creation of elves and men and of the unauthorized creation of the dwarves. This book goes into everything that you might not have understood in the LOTR. Although this book takes a lot of patience and memory to read. You might want to take notes as you read because some of the characters have two to three different names that they go by so at times the book might be confusing. If you understand the way that Tolkien writes then you will love the book as much as I did.
