We were given the book as a present for our little son who's only six months old. I was really surprised to find him studying the pictures with great interest. I've read the story to him over and over again and he listens and looks at the pictures without getting distracted or bored.
The pictures are absolutely beautiful, very clear but not too simple. There are only a few words on each page to introduce each of the different animals and their characteristics.
We'll keep reading the book to our son, and as he grows older, he'll understand the story:
Sometimes you might wish that you were different and that you could do what others can do, and it's ok to try, but you can always return home to feel safe and secure.
It's a beautiful book and a lovely story. I can definitely recommend it.

Our son has loved this book, since he was about 12 months old, and it is still his favourite a year later! The illustrations are lovely, with a very clever story. We have now got the DVD version, which is even better - a great present for a toddler.

If I was an ignoramus I could probably of overlooked the bad grammar...
An OK story with some pretty decent illustrations but THAT grammatical error! Not just a minor error either but a great big fat heffer of an error! An repeated over and over.

Interesting, and creative story for 1-2 year olds
We ordered this Book/Dvd for our 18 month old, and she loves it. In fact this whole series are great value, as kids can watch the DVD while following the book. Read more

Poor grammar ruins what could have been a charming book

Simply Splendid!
We love this story. Very cleverly built picture book. Lovely story which introduces lots of animals and their characteristics in a fun way.
