Product Description

From Amazon.com

Williams made his nickname of "Mr. Rhythm" by talking his way through a series of fun, creepy, sleazy-sounding R&B records back in the '50s. The 1998 Silky is a lot more, uh, explicit (there's a big difference between "Bacon Fat" and "Let Me Put It In"), and Williams sometimes sounds unconvinced by the words he's drawling, though his torn-up purr slyly makes the point of "Only Black Man In South Dakota." The band behind him--a group of garage rock all-stars including members of the Gories and Demolition Doll-Rods--is terrific, backing him up with an echoey multi-guitar roar that's nothing like what he used in his R&B days, but suits his rasp nicely. --Douglas Wolk

Is there anythings this man can't do?? His long and colorful career has seen him doing 'proto rap' in the 50s ('Bacon Fat' anyone?), writing and co writing songs used by the likes of Ike and Tina Turner, and I believe Stevie Wonder - to name a few, a country album ('Red Dirt', backed by The Sadies), and of course 'Silky' - dubbed the world's SLEAZIEST album, this one is a garage punk gem, full of nasty guitar riffs and reverb heavy howlers. A must have for any rock n roll/rhythm and blues/garage punk enthusiast!

"There ain't no place I'd rather be than looking down at you looking up at me", the Godfather of sleaze croons with his baritone twist of life into the open ear headphones. The music here is industrio rhythmn and blooze. The type of noise Tav Falco should blast out instead of his odes to lounge core. It is low down dirty buzz saw wreck and roll.

Wild Thing Troggs pounds out its sleaze beat as Andre croons to perfection. Intoning his odes to carnality way over the top showing the young dudes who to perform the oldest carny trick a pony was ever taught; shake its tailfeather in time to the beat of his particular rhythm. He wants to be your favourite pair of pyjamas in the way you wish Iggy would rekindle the Stooges and he unzips the zipper and pulls down the elastic and unhooks the clasp with the command of his vocal chords.

This is feel good music for those who have female company who can digest the ribald, lewd and lavaricious sense of deep suggestion that curls round his tongue and licks his lips before he caresses your insides. Boogie Woogie wiggle as the paws lift the cup of venus to be drunk dry in one long sup.

Songs about liquor, carousing into the night all to the tunes of Route 69, the Rolling Stones would be infused if Andre could be allowed to take the limelight from the aging lotharios and show how its really banged out. Slip it on, stick it on and dance the night away in organic ecstasy.

It has to be said that this guy is no Andy Williams - if you're looking for him you're in the wrong place by a long way. I've got most of Andre Williams post comeback CD's, and this is my favourite, but I must warn you much of it is in hilariously bad taste, and is definitely for adults only. If you can see the funny side of sex, and like fairly hard-rocking music with a rapper who must be the king of sleaze-rap, try it. Much of it is as wild musically as it is lyrically, and most of it is very listenable. But do take a look at the titles on this CD before you buy it, they are a pretty accurate reflection of the content. His voice is still great after all those years of drug abuse, very, er, lived-in.
