The first couple of albums by the Shoes didn't generate a hit (even though there was certainly hit worthy material on them). I truly believe that if this album was marketed correctly and released in the U.S. that Shoes would have finally had commercial success.
This release finds the guys taking a different (more synthesized) approach to things. I like the approach here a lot and I think the time was certainly right for this sound. I do however think they should have gotten back to basics on future releases which built upon this model and suffered from being OVER produced.
While the first couple of releases by Shoes could be classified as Power-Pop this one takes them into a more "synth"/"produced" sound but it keeps the sweet Power-Pop melodies and simple lyrics.
One of the best releases by Shoes, you'll love it!
