Product Description

After giving readers the basic know-how to cutting their own intricate shapes from paper, the author guides them, step-by-step through over 20 projects that incorporate the silhouette designs. The papercut shapes are in themes such as sea life, small animals, botanical and classic figures and are used in a variety of projects from tea-light lanterns, to gift boxes and cards, to party decor, wall art and much more. While instruction for cutting their own shapes by hand is covered, the reader is also introduced to the option of using a die-cut machine. The author has been working closely with Accugraphic, the maker of the Klic-n-Kut and Craft Robo. This manufacturer plans on selling this book on their site, where readers can download files for their cutter.

About the Author

Nanetta Bananto is a beadwork, sculpture, clay, painting, calligraphy, fiber and paperarts artist and author of Creative Techniques for Polymer Clay Jewelry. Nanetta designs projects for Polyform Products, sells art to galleries and museum shops, has designed numerous CD covers, flyers, menus and t-shirts.

Ya. I just bought this book today for Kindle on Pc.

The book in itself is great; but the only way you get the patterns is on the CD that comes with the book if you buy the regular book itself.

I think this sucks. There should have at least been a PDF of the patterns for the projects in this book to download from the authors blog or something from the publisher.

I think I just wasted $10.92 for a book that only shows how to put the patterns together.

This sucks.

I love this book! A lot of papercrafting books feature projects that veer towards the cutesy side of the spectrum. These projects are beautiful and clean. If you are lucky enough to have a digital cutter (Craft Robo/Silhouette, etc) that can use eps or pdf file, the included CD will put you over the moon.... I took this book home and was quickly cutting out the files needed for an adorable paper lantern in no time. In no time at all, with the addition of a battery-operated votive, I had something that I would have really admired in a gift store.

The lanterns, etc, can be easily customized with any of the different artwork (deer, foxes, retro furniture, flowers, angels, etc) that is included.
