For some time I had been trying to find a pillow for my partner to help remedy her neck and back pain. At the mention of "memory foam pillow", she was most enthusiastic, so I searched around for a while before settling on the SilentNight Impress Comfort Core Memory Foam Pillow.
We both envisaged something firm yet soft, which one could sink one's head into.
However, this pillow is not soft. It is very firm. Your head does not sink into it and it is not particularly comfortable to sleep on. Therefore, my partner did not use it for long enough for me to be able to speculate as to whether or not is has a positive effect on bodily aches and pains.
I'll be brutally honest - I slept on it myself for a night or two and my sleep was far from terrible, although my head did feel unnaturally elevated. If you sleep only on your side, your head and neck feel well supported, but if you like sleeping on your back or your front, you should definitely avoid this product.

I would just like to complain about the pillows. I am not happy with the product, because it does not feel or do as a normal memory foam pillow should. The foam is not a whole molded unit, but small pieces placed together in a cover. This defeats the object of a memory foam product. It does not form to the contour of my head and is too hard. Because it does not mold to the contours of your head, it stays too high.
I have had and still do have a memory foam pillow which I bought 5 years ago. It is fantastic, it forms to my head and is very comfortable. The reason for this is because it a a whole formed piece of foam, not hundreds of little pieces.
I was impressed by the reviews your product got and this is why I bought it. I cant believe the people whom bought the same pillows are satisfied with it.
I am sorry that your product is a great disappointment to me, but I was expecting at minimum a pillow that is the same as if not better than what I have been used to, from my old memory foam pillow.Don't waist your money on a pillow that is made from off cuts.

I bought this because my previous pillow had become so flat it provided no support at all, and I was getting neck ache. There is a chemical smell as soon as you take it out of the packaging, but I just left it outside on the airer for a few hours and it has been fine since then. I have to admit that initially I was disappointed with this pillow as although I expected it to be firm, it really is very very firm, not even remotely soft for your head to sink in to. My husband tried it but found it too hard, he said he would knock himself out on it! I wouldn't go that far, but it wasn't quite what I expected. Having said that, I've persevered for a few nights and it is starting to feel more comfortable. I can't decide if I like it or not, but the one brilliant thing in its favour is that it holds my head at exactly the right height when I lie on my side, so that I don't wake with neckache at all. Hence the 4 stars, because I think the softness issue is a matter of preference only.
