Product Description

Product Description

Christopher was resigned to the fact he would be dead by the morning. Did he deserve to die? What sort of stupid question was that? He would have given himself a slap for being so ridiculous if he could. He might just as well ask himself if he was a good father. He needed to think clearly and sensibly. He was scared no, he was terrified and it was about time he owned up to that. He had to confront what frightened him most and that was not death itself, but that promised state of creative, relentless, unforgiving pain that would make him beg to be dead and released from his agony. He wished he had been able to give them what they wanted. It would have been so much easier, but that was not possible now. He mentally beat himself with thoughts of his own stupidity. He had always considered himself to be an intelligent man, he was rich, handsome and well-regarded but right now he really did not know what sort of man he was. How could his decline have happened so spectacularly to the point that tomorrow his life would end? He had the night to think about it before they returned.

i could not wait for this book to come out after reading m c Duttons first book. she has not disapointed me. this book is just as good as the first one. it was well worth the wait. silent night gripped me from the start but as the story unfolds. i found it impossible to put down. i agree with the other comments about the story, the main character had everything he could ever want but greed made him want more. you must read this book to find out what happens to christopher but it had me riveted in my seat and really frightened in parts. its a compelling story and i have recommended this to many people (men and women) i know who have also read it and found it amazing.

i cannot wait for m c duttons next book to come out. i love her writing style. i hope it will not be long.

Once again a book by Dutton that holds your interest to the last page.

Christopher leads a high life from the word go despite coming from humble beginnings. this story tells of his rise in society both at home and in America and then the downfall that greed ultimately brings.

Working in the world of the drug lords and feigning respectability by using his wife's hard fought for standing in English society Christopher enters a dark world that is ultimately his undoing.

MC Dutton has a command of the written word that will keep you on the edge of your seats and screaming "run hurry hurry" whilst trying to read faster to find out what on earth is going to happen next.

An excellent read and one that leaves you waiting eagerly for the next book in her collection.

This was the first book of M C Duttons I have read and was not disappointed. It kept me glued and I ended up reading it in record time as I could not put it down. A great story of the high life gone wrong. Having been recommended to read the book by a friend I am now going to read The Devils Tears which has also come highly recommended.
