Okay, I'm slightly biased in that I love legal thrillers, but this one is a real cracker. I notice that on Amazon USA there is a host of reviews bestowing a constellation of stars, so I was surprised and honoured to be the first UK reviewer. Without giving too much away, the tale is based on the legal convention of lawyer/client confidentiality, which seems a simple enough principle and yet Mr Isaacson takes it and, as the Americans like to say, runs with it in a Fatal Attraction sort of a way. Before we know it the protagonist in a run-of-the mill criminal case, suddenly finds himself at the mercy of a real bunny-boiler and before he knows it his life is turned upside down and his family placed in real danger. The author skillfully ratchets the tension up an imperceptible notch with each turn of the page while keeping the story entirely believeable and providing an excellent and satisfyingly unexpected ending. This is not the 'gritty', body-fest type of crime fiction that clutters the market just now; as authors vie to think up more grotesquely unusual ways of bumping folk off. What it is, is intelligent, exciting writing that will hook you from chapter 1 and at just over £[] on Kindle it's a total snip!
