About the Author

Dennis Joseph Enright was born in Leamington, Warwickshire in 1920. He taught English literature for 25 years, mainly in the East. He was subsequently poetry editor and director of Chatto-Windus (1974-1982). In addition to writing poetry, he is a prose-writer (fiction for adults and children, memoirs and criticism) and has edited various anthologies. He lives in London.
