Sigma EM-140 DG NA-ITTL Macro Flash For Nikon SLR Cameras. I enjoy photographing insects both in the field and the studio. I have a Nikon D80 with a 105mm Macro lens (but as a photgrapher I am a rank amateur!). As with all macro photography I had dreadful depth of field problems with half the insect being in focus and the rest and background blurred. Getting enough light when stopped down to f32 or even f40 was the goal, and gritting the teeth to purchase this ring flash was a gamble. But it paid off. Excellent results and it can be used down to 1:1 without a tripod and still produce good results. Downside is that the camera, lens and flash unit is heavy to carry around for field work. Battery life seems reasonable so far.

I bought this to complement my Nikon 105mm macro lens and it has more than lived up to expectations. With a good solid Manfrotto tripod great depth of field is easy and the exposure is always correct.
Why didn't I get one years ago!

Sigma Macro Flash 12 Feb 2010
By JW
This is a great item of kit and performs as expected. It is a large addition to the camera when in place, but does not alter the balance too much (on a Nikon D300).
