I looked at many bike computers and eventually chose this one. After reading hundreds of reviews for many different computers I felt this was the best scored one and did everything I needed. I advise buyers not to get too hung on functions such as temp, wind speed etc I think if u want everything then you need to spend serious pound to get a good one. This one does the basics very well and looks great. A proffesional design and very clear display makes it look amazing on my racer. It comes off the cradel very easily aswell. Very easy to install with no tools. Uses bands which I was aprehensive about at first, but havent budged since I fitted it.

PROS - looks great, competitive price, does what i needt it to, easy to install
CONS - none

Would recommend this product, hasnt let me down yet after my 6th ride. Dont be fooled by much cheaper ones, these seem to give bad readings of 70mph on stationary roads, £15 - £20 and a quality name is needed.

This is the third Sigma bike computer I've bought, it's quite a bit cheaper than the others with fewer functions available, but ideal for my purposes - it's for my second bike. All I want when out and about is distance travelled and speed etc. This little beauty does all these and more, and is very easy to set up - mind you I'm used to the rather cookie manuals by now, so if this is your first purchase of a Sigma computer, you may find it a wee bit tricky to start with, but do persevere as it's very intuitive to use once set up. Assuming your tyre circumference is listed, it's a 10 minute job to attach and you're away - if your tyre isn't listed, you'll have to get the trusty inch tape out to accurately calibrate it so you will have true readings when on the road. Have some cable ties available when fitting to secure and tidy the wire between the sensor and the display.

In short a great little computer at an excellent price - happy to recommend.

Big, easy to to read digits, sunlight no problem, not bothered by the rain, easy to remove and attach. Measures accurately and consistently. Installation was little tricky - getting the magnet onto the spoke took some muscle and coordination, but it has stayed put. Docked a star since they really should have included some cable ties, both for attaching the device and for cable.

I received the Sigma BC 1009 cycle computer for my birthday after adding it to my Amazon wish list.

I was after a reasonably priced device that would offer all the basic functions I required. This was mainly speed, distance and some averages. The BC 1009 fits my requirements perfectly.

It was easy to install. Although it was supplied with rubber o-rings I opted for using slim black cable ties to secure the sensor and the mount. Both the sensor and the mount are designed to take cable ties so the installation was easy and looks nice and tidy.

The device is well made and the screen size is perfect. I think it is very good value for money and regardless of how much you spend you aren't going to get anything that looks better.

The four large buttons are easy to use which is handy if you are wearing gloves.

I've also uploaded a video to YouTube showing how easy it is to configure this device. The video is called "Setup A Sigma BC 1009 Cycle Computer" and is available on my MattHawkinsUK channel.

The manual is available from the main Sigma Sport website.

Overall this device looks good, is good value for money and does exactly what I expect from a cycle computer. If I need any fancy data I will just use my phone, GPS and Google Tracks!

Great cycle computer. All the functions I need, easy to fit & set up. A brilliant display, much clearer than the Cateye Velo fitted to my other bike. Can also be fitted to the stem easily.Highly recommended.

Fed up with the generic computers that fail after a year I opted for this BC1009 hoping for reliability and quality.
Nice looking unit and easy enough to get it programmed. Numbers nice and clear and worked fine on my first ride except..
Fitted the display on the stem of my road bike using the rubber band. Am going to change this for the supplied cable ties as the unit moves around when you try to press the buttons to change display whilst using one hand during a ride. Not sure they'll be so easy with winter gloves on.
Worst point for me is the fit of the sender unit and magnet.
My Giant Defy 3 road bike is pretty normal these days in having fairly large square oval section forks with not a lot of clearance between wheel/spoke and fork.
The magnet is a push fit and clips to the spoke - looks to be designed for 1.8mm round. I have 2mm spokes. The magnet clipped on ok with a good push. ( Note that if you have flat spokes this ain't gonna fit. )
The supplied metal cover for the clip proved impossible. Ended up 'reverse-engineering' it with pliers and althogh fitted is probably going to come loose and get lost.
The sender unit appears designed to fit well on small round forks with plenty of wheek to spoke clearance.
Anyway this is going on - hard to describe what could be drawn ! I had to fit the sender magnet pairing very differently from the design. It works, but I am not confident it will stay put.
My advice is if you want a budget cycle computer and have a road bike less than 5 years old read the reviews and with luck some user shares his fitting experience.
Probably find out that I got an 'old stock' model after writing this ! Oh well, Happy cycling.
