The AML-1 is made up of 2 elements in 1 group to provide correction for colour aberrations and distortion, delivering a high level of optical performance. When attached to your camera?s lens hood, the AML-1 allows you to get up closer to your subjects, with focusing distances between 20 cm and 33 cm. The AML-1 comes with a super multi-layer lens coating, which reduces flare and ghosting. Great quality, fit & finish. On the DP1 it allows you to get a bit closer than normal but nothing spectacular. The pictures are clear, sharp, and colorful... it is almost impossible to tell a close-up lens was used. I was looking for something to take me closer to the subject so I returned the lens. If you need to get about a foot closer to your subject, buy it, you'll like it.

The AML-1 is more expensive than just other close-up lenses, it works so much better on the Dp-1. Well worth the extra bucks

Great close up lens no complaints about what it is. Build and optical finish is faultless.
Somewhat expensive but has threads on both sides should you want to pop on another close up filter for flexibility later on..:)
