I have used this on a D7000 with no problem. Of course it will be a '36-105mm' lense. Good luck.

Will it fit a D3100 ? 17 Oct 2014
Yes it will fit and be fully compatible with a Nikon D3100 since this lens has it's own internal 'HSM' focus motor.

Hi there. I haven't used it with a D5000 but I have used it with a D7000 and a D3000 so, in theory it should work fine on a D5000.

You'll need a AFS lens, as the d5100 does not have a internal autofocus motor in camera. You can use any Nikon fit lenses with the d5100, but you won't have a auto focus, you'll have to manually focus the lens.
