5.0 out of 5 stars Parrish is an amazing writer who has created a very intense thriller and some parts of the book can be quite gruesome 6 July 2010

Cold Sight : Extrasensory Agents by Leslie Parrish
Paranormal Romance - July 6, 2010
5 Stars

Aidan McConnell, a physic detective, left Savannah for Granville after a botched investigation that left his reputation and conscience in tatters. Unfortunately, his wish of living a peaceful life was not to be. Alexa Nolan, a small time reporter in Granville, believes that there's a serial killer at large, abducting and killing girls from the poor side of town. When another girl goes missing, Alexa has to race against time to find the killer and save the girl. She seeks out the help of the reclusive and reluctant Aidan and his friends - the extrasensory agents.

Parrish does an amazing job in this novel with her characters that have a witty banter between our hero, Aidan, and the plucky heroine, Alexa. Despite their rocky start, these two characters chemistry is very well-written and fleshed out. Parrish is not a gratuitous writer. The attraction between the two main characters is carefully maintained and lovingly crafted so that it builds up over time. The camaraderie between the Guy and the Girl is so vivid and fun to read that you root for those two to get together in the end, and not just in bed.

Parrish is an amazing writer who has created a very intense thriller and some parts of the book can be quite gruesome. The author is not afraid to push the boundaries and has no qualms about killing off one of the character. The story starts with a bang; from the very first page, she drops you right in the middle of the action and as the reader, you have no choice but to hang on tight and keep reading...or be left wondering. I definitely could not put it down. Parrish's novel is so compact and tightly written that the plot flows and is so organic. Unlike a lot of poorly written romance thrillers, Parrish does not just focus on sex and uses the plot as a background. You can't separate the romance from the plot or vice-versa. There are also other relationships going on in the book, from friendships to sisterly love that are equally poignant and well written. Simply put, this is one of those books where you have to read it because it is so good. I'm definitely looking forward to the next installment of the Extrasensory Agents series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Delightful, enchanting story! I am looking forward to the next one. 9 July 2010

I ran across Cold Sight a month ago while browsing prereleases and the book description interested me enough to pre order it. I promptly forgot about it until my kindle downloaded it the morning of the release. Perfect timing as I have spent the last 2 days off work and having a lot of time to read on my hands.

I give this book 4 stars because I loved the story line the, the characters and everything about this book. The only reason it isn't a 5 star is I didn't become totally enthralled with the book to the point of nothing else. I read the book almost nonstop but found myself sometimes becoming distracted by what I could tell was series building for the next book.

I am not going to outline what the book is about because if you want to know, you can read the description. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Aidan's and Lexie's Story and will definetly read the follow up books in this series to see what happens to the rest of the eXtreme Investigations team.

This is defintely worth buying if you find yourself even remotely interested "Cold Sight" after reading the description. In my opinion you won't find yourself regretting it!

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 1/2 Hearts from TRS! 23 July 2010
By Tina Pavlik - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Cold Sight is dark, edgy, gut-wrenchingly painful at times, and one of the best romantic suspense books of the year. The paranormal element is very light and I wonder if we'll see more in-depth paranormal activity in the future books. The introduction and help of the psychic detectives from eXtreme Investigations, the company Aidan works for, sets up the future books in the series.

I was hooked on this book from the very beginning but once the hero and heroine began their snappy dialogue, I couldn't put it down. I was enthralled by the very serious threat to the teenagers and Lexie and Aidan's intense chemistry. Both Lexie and Aidan were strong characters that had taken a hit professionally. I loved how Lexie was able to understand just what Aidan needed to help him bounce back. Lexie had integrity as a reporter with her main focus being on helping the teenagers. The character building is woven seamlessly into the fast paced plot and you can't tell the difference between the developing romance and the developing plot. It all flows perfectly. Secondary characters like the teenagers are great complements to the plot. Be prepared because the author doesn't spare any expense when it comes to her characters. No character is immune to the knife! The ending of this book is unlike any I've read before. Your emotions will definitely be touched - it haas heartbreaking tragic moments and will spark strong emotions in many readers. You've been warned - now go get this book. I can't wait to read the next Extrasensory Agents book. - Lisa Freeman
