Siesta iDock is fully compliant with Apple's "Made for iPod" and "Works with iPhone" programmes. Track and 'now playing' information is displayed on the Siesta iDock screen and users can control their iPod or iPhone via the radio when their iPhone or iPod is placed in the integrated dock. On top of this, Siesta iDock is a perfect bedside companion with a whole host of useful bedside features including a large auto-dimming display, four quick-set alarms, DAB and FM radio and a PowerPort, which provides power for handy USB accessories such as mobile phone chargers, reading lights, bedside fans and cup warmers, solving the problem of having insufficient power points next to the bed.

The four individual alarms can be set for weekdays only, weekends only or as a one-off. A sleep timer allows you to drop off to your favourite station and there's an adjustable snooze time for an extra lie-in when you deserve it.

Despite its compact size Siesta iDock also features tuned stereo speakers to help make waking up sound that little bit better.

Energy Saving Recommended
PURE are proud to be able to say that many PURE radios are recommended by the Energy Saving Trust. The PURE Move received the first ever Energy Saving Recommended ("ESR") endorsement for a radio and now the Siesta iDock has also received ESR accreditation.

Products endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust have to satisfy an Independent Endorsement Panel of experts, draw less than 1W of current in standby and 3.5W in operation and provide a rechargeable alternative to alkaline batteries. The Energy Saving Trust takes into account their energy efficiency, sustainability (to gauge their overall environmental impact), and how economical they are to run.

Did you know you can run four of our Energy Saving recommended radios for less power than a single low energy light bulb?*

*A PURE 'Energy Saving Trust accredited' digital radio consumers less than 3.5W of electricity in use. Comparison based on a low energy bulb of 14W or above. (A typical low energy bulb to replace a 60W incandescent 'traditional' bulb uses between 13W and 18W).

Digital Radio
With Digital radio you'll discover a broader range of music, debate and ideas, all in crystal clear digital sound. Digital radio offers:

Digital radios are much easier to use than analogue radios because they automatically search for all available stations. Once the radio has found all the available stations you just choose the one you want by name. No more trying to remember frequencies.

Wider Station Choice
You'll be spoilt for choice - as well as many of your existing favourite stations now broadcasting on digital radio, you'll also find great exclusive-to-digital stations and there are more on the way.

Digital Sound Quality
Digital radio is not subject to the same interference as analogue radio resulting in crystal clear, interference free listening.

Packed full of features including EcoPlus
The Siesta iDock is packed full of features and designed
to reduce its environmental impact

Works with iPhone Approval
Your guarantee of perfect iPhone compatibility. Siesta iDock is fully compliant with Apple's "Works with iPhone" programme. Track and 'now playing' information is displayed on the Siesta iDock screen and you can control your iPhone via the radio when it is placed in the integrated dock.

Made for iPod
Designed to work with most iPod models so you can listen to your iPod whilst it charges.

Four easy-to-use independent quick-set alarms so you can wake to DAB, FM or tone and set different times for weekdays and weekends.

Automatic Brightness Control
An integrated light sensor automatically adjusts the display brightness to suit the light levels in your room.

The side-mounted mini USB PowerPort socket is ideal for connecting any of your compatible USB accessories such as a mobile phone charger, reading light, bedside fan or cup warmer, solving the problem of having insufficient power points next to the bed.

Participating stations broadcast sports, news, or traffic reports which are stored on your radio so they are available on demand. Like Teletext on TVs, you can then search this stored scrolling text by category.

This feature enables you to pause and control scrolling text: useful if you want to catch the title of a track, note down a competition phone number or rewind to catch a news item.

Headphone Output
3.5mm stereo headphone socket so you can listen through headphones (mutes speaker) or connect the headphone output to your stereo and use as a DAB tuner.

Station Presets
30 DAB and FM presets to help you organise your favourite stations.

Support for station name display on FM and RDS scrolling text.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another quality product from Pure 10 April 2010
By L. Hood

I bought this item so that I could could play the music on my iPhone and listen to DAB stations (FM reception is very poor where I live). I did some research on the net but found there wasn't much choice available, most were FM/AM only. I chose this product because I have a number of other Pure products and I've always been very satisfied with the quality. The sound quality is very good and the ability to preset your favourite DAB channels is very handy as is the ability to have numerous alarms set. Pure provide various fittings for classics, nanos, iphone, etc so you get a perfect fit for your Apple product. The only thing I would like to see improved is the display screen, I'd like the option to be able to change the display so that it would only show the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well thought out 9 Feb 2010
I have a standard Siesta and it would seem they have done some research and updated the original (as well as add iphone compatibility).
Ok, it docks the iphone which works well and allows my wife to charge the phone.
Whilst I think the audio is OK for backround music, it will not be good enough for serious listening.
Where I am most impressed is the improvements of this as a clock radio.
Access to the alarms is now direct for each of the 4, as each has it own button and can be customised with the choice of alarm/radio/iphone(pod) and more crucially the level. The standard Siesta has an increasing alarm tone volume which quickly becomes annoying. The set up is shortened and you can toggle on and off by pressing the individual button rather than delving deep into the menu. This needs to be done to alter alarms though.
The display is now of a shade and brightness that makes it easy to read at at night and includes a manual control for this. The display is also now angled which is better for looking down at; I cannot see the original properly.
I think this is a great product which, if it had a deeper bass would be fantastic. As noted, the changes alone to this as a clock radio over the standard Siesta would encourage me to buy a second unit for the other side of the bed to replace the original Siesta.

5.0 out of 5 stars very satisfied 17 Feb 2010

I bought this as a clock radio as currently had a non dab radio with a dreadful reception. Put simply it ticks all the boxes, I like the following things:
- The clock and date sets itself off the digital signal (to have an accurate clock is an amazing asset)
- the clock dims at night (but not too much) and brightens when the room is light, to the extent that you can read it in the sun
- the sound quality is good, both from the radio and the ipod.
- the ipod dock also charges the ipod
- the whole thing is very simple to use
- it has 4 alarms that can all be set independently at different times and/or different functions, I believe you can also program it to wake you up to a different radio station to what you last used (although I have not tried this)
- it is a very neat and attractive unit

things I don't like
- it comes with dock converters to make the dock compatable with different ipods or phones, however the converter for the nano is a 4th generation, which does not fit the 5th generation in, therefore I have had to use the one which was supplied with my ipod, which is white and does not match the unit. I contacted Pure with regard to this 4 days ago but have yet to receive a response.

All in all although this may seem a bit expensive for an alarm clock, I feel it is worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars PURE Siesta iDock 24 May 2010
By Jeanius
I've needed a replacement radio alarm for some time and decided to give DAB a try. Finding a machine that fit my requirements proved to be interesting, especially reading other people's reviews. However I finally chose the PURE Siesta iDock and I'm glad I did. I'm not a purist where this sort of thing is concerned, I buy an item to do a job and this one does what I require perfectly. The sound is good, even when turned up to full volume - no fuzzy or distorted sound and the alarm is enough to wake me up without disturbing my other half too much. I definitely recommend this one.

The Siesta is a high quality DAB/FM clock radio with a built in iPod docking station, and a USB socket, which can be used to charge another device such as a phone.

Construction is light but reassuring, and the clock is well finished. The triangular design looks pleasing. Displayed digits are not large, but legible, and the night-time luminosity level is adequate without being obtrusive. DAB signals are strong in my area, whereas FM is weak, which is the primary reason why I looked for a DAB clock radio to replace my ageing Audioline TimeTrak RTT1, which has FM/LW only but has clock synchronisation from the very accurate MSF radio signal.

The clock time is automatically set by the DAB radio signals, though there is a manual setting procedure, and whilst it's not anything like the accuracy of dedicated atomic clock radio signal synchronisation, it's more than adequate for domestic or civil time use. My clock started with an error of around two minutes against a known GMT source (my TimeTrak RTT1), but over the course of a day or so, this came down to within a few seconds of the BBC broadcast time signal pips. There are those who have reported significant drift if the radio is left off for some time. I've not experienced this. Although I've not tested it, it did occur to me that one of the four alarms could be set to switch on the radio for an hour at zero volume during the night, with a sleep time of about an hour, to let the clock resynchronise with the DAB time.

Station presets are set and accessed, not by dedicated buttons, but by pressing on the `Preset' button, which shows preset station #1, then cycling through the other preset numbers with the +/- keys. In practice, this works well, particularly if, like me, you only have a few stations you regularly tune to.
