Product Description

Product Description

The Hobbit is a third-person action/adventure game set in the world of Middle-earth. In the game, you take the persona of Bilbo Baggins, an unassuming Hobbit who has been unwittingly thrust into an epic adventure.

Explore the mystical world of Middle-earth where you'll need to jump gaping chasms, climb treacherous mountains, solve mind bending puzzles and battle hordes of enemies just to survive. Meet enchanting Elves, battle-ready Dwarves, a powerful Wizard, massive Trolls, bloodthirsty goblins, and more as you traverse from the peaceful lands of the Shire to the harrowing forests of Mirkwood. And that's just the beginning.

The Hobbit 4 Dec 2003
By A Customer
Anyone who has read and enjoyed reading The Hobbit, will definitely enjoy this game. It follows the book almost chapter by chapter, and you will surely recognise some of the areas and names of the characters you encounter on your journeys through Middle-Earth.
The levels are very well done and there is somethig different in them all. The puzzles are very good and some of them quite tough too.
Eventhough this may a game more suited for older children, the graphics and especially the cinematics that appear throught the game are amazing and well worth seeing. Also the music is very catchy. Definitely well worth gettin

Lovely graphics, not mega high tech but perfect for capturing the atmosphere. Thoughtful level design and an easy control system. Thats the techno stuff out of the way. What gameplay!! excellent stuff. My 6 year old could play it and enjoy it and so could I. The storyline of the book is remarkably well adhered to.Each section is a logical step to the next (although I would have liked an escape from Gollum level.)Tricky, but solvable puzzles, fierce but beatable enemies and a gentle learning curve all add up to make the gameplay rewarding and less frustrating than shopping on a saturday. The music is perfectly reflective of the current game situation and the voice acting is very good.Buy it if you want to relax and see a story unfold.

The Hobbit 3 Dec 2004
I've enjoyed the book for many years and having the chance to play through the story was an exciting opportunity.

Graphically The Hobbit is farily average. Everything at the start is brightly coloured and later the game becomes darker. What makes it extremely frustrating to play is the awkward camera. You have control over it but at times you need to make quick, precise jumps and unless you have Bilbo and the camera in exactly the right position you die and have to restart the section again. Also there isn't room to really explore Middle-Earth, the path is very linear.

Combat is fairly easy to master and with a range of moves and weapons you can find an easy way to dispatch most foes.
