Highly Entertaining,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Hobbit (GameCube) (Video Game)
A very attractive game for the younger player.Excellent graphics with detailed characters and scenes, atmospheric sound and music which never becomes annoying, and a well pitched difficulty level make this great to play. As you follow closely the storyline of the book, you interact with characters who assign you quest tasks. Your abilities improve as you progress and collecting gems builds up your courage points to give you more health. You also collect silver coins throughout which can be used to buy equipment upgrades and health/antidote potions etc, (very useful when you get poisoned by spiders). There are different puzzles to solve in each area and the save-points are so well judged as to avoid unecessary frustration, e.g. after battling through a tricky section for 10 minutes and seeing off that last mean goblin, with your health almost critical, you usually find a save-point thereby avoiding a slip round the next corner resulting in a complete restart of the section. My 9 year old son is really enjoying it and with 4 game save slots available I've started a game myself.

Bilbo Vs Frodo,
By daza (england) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hobbit (GameCube) (Video Game)
Are you fed up with Frodo and the fellowship well take a break and go on the quest of his uncle Bilbo. This is one of the most colourfull and detailed games out which is no surprise cause it's already a classic because it was out on the commodor 64 and the spectrum in the 80's. All the characters in the game you can interact with which can lead you to learning new moves for the legendary Sting or just saying that your going in the wrong direction. A lot of detail has done in the plot of the game to keep it a close as possible to the book, which I think they have succeded in taking you the player from the calm and peacefull surroundings of the Shire into the dark Grey Mountains. Overall this is a long term game for any devoted game player, who is looking for a bit of Fun, Stragety and a detailed game.

Look at it, consider it, Buy it.,
This review is from: The Hobbit (GameCube) (Video Game)
Every Role Playing Game (RPG) holds a substantial amount of fun. The Hobbit, in particular, is quite something else. I rate the game play: good. I rate the graphics: God-Like. I rate everything else: TERRIBLY GOOD. The good things about this game is that its a RPG, and everything has almost tipped the scale rating! I have played this on other platforms. The only downfalls and weaknesses of this game is the annoying fact that it loads slowly, and all the hobbits' feet are too big! Again, you need a Zelda game to really spicen up your gamecube, but nevertheless, these are the words i have for you, Look at it, consider it, Buy it.
