I thought this kettle was the best looking kitchen appliance I'd ever seen and loved it on sight. Our daughter bought it for us for Christmas 2 years ago and I feel awful complaining about it, but it's been the worst kettle ever. It doesn't just drip when you pour it, it leaves puddles of water everywhere and you have to be nifty on your feet to keep them from being scalded. The front part of the spout has come loose so this may be the cause. I also find it very slow to boil and any of the cheap plastic jug kettles I've had in the past performed better by far. Just after we got the kettle my husband had the bright idea to buy the toaster to match and it's been a waste of money and space too as it can't make a decent piece of toast.
Maybe Porsche have improved the design of the new model, but I wouldn't advise anyone to spend that amount of money on it when you could have 5 or 6 much better performing kettles for the price of one Siemens Porsche.

This is a beautiful kettle and we bought the toaster to match. The kettle has just started to leak catastrophically from the base and four years is a short life for an expensive item like this. Being out of warranty, we have been told send it back and pay £8 for inspection before we know if it can be repaired. Not very good value for a £100 kettle.

I wouldn't recommend this item to anyone.

Sorry Porsche, sorry Siemens, this is a terrible kettle.

Sure it looks like it was designed to make a cup of tea whilst breaking the sound barrier and the brushed steel is gorgeous to touch; but as a kettle it is completely useless.

The controls are fiddly - the boil button doesn't always click down, the thermostat sometimes doesn't cut in when the water is boiling and you end up with a kitchen spa. The controls are too close to where hot steam comes up around the lid and you can easily get burned and it pours sloppily.

Worst of all, sooner or later, every Porsche kettle will begin to leak around its base. Okay, this is a common fault with many jug kettles, but for the price and coming from two highly reputed companies, this should not happen with this product.

And it isn't just one kettle that's faulty, I'm on my third in three years - and now that's started to leak. I've just come home to find my work surfaces and floor flooded. One - maybe I was unlucky, two - grr - yes I'll accept a replacement, three - surely this one has to work? But can I possibly live with a fourth one?

In short - no. Siemens customer service is non-existent, surly and expensive; so I guess I'll be buying another kettle from another manufacturer.

In fact the whole Siemens Porsche line is a turkey. I also got the toaster which gave up after two years with a fault that would have cost almost as much buying a new one. The £5 replacement from Tesco's continues to soldier on and doesn't burn bread nearly as often.
