A 911 it's not! 14 Jun 2011
I am a huge fan of good design and innovation as long as there is a good balance of practicality. This is a great looking piece of kit, but at the end of the day, it is primarily a toaster and doesn't do this job very well.

I originally had bought the kettle, which I thoroughly adore and had my eye on the toaster. To cut a long story short, I received the toaster from my better half for christmas and was over joyed, but that's as far as it went.
Firstly, this is supposed to be a two slice toaster, yes it is if you stand your bread upright but the top doesn't brown. If you lay the bread side ways, this'll work but you can only get one in at a time.
Secondly, once your toast is done, if you leave it in there too long, it starts to burn as the single elements on either side stay hot for a while after switching off, and I might add, doesn't brown evenly.

I appreciate others opinions, we all have different ways of judging things, but if anyone wants to spend a bit of money on a toaster that actually does what it is intended for, I would recommend a dualit. It's been tried and tested for many years and is a good reliable, strong toaster, which I can say through experience.
Siemens are a cracking electronics company and Porsche build some of the finest cars on the road, what happened here!!

To conclude, if you want something to look nice, buy a picture.

Fantastic! 27 Jan 2010
Purchased this as a house-warming present for my brother and from the moment it arrived, it has been loved!

Stylish and very functional, it has a nice cover to keep the dust out when not in use. The blue digital display tells you how long (minutes!) it will take to toast the bread and the nifty retractable grill is ideal to warm up baguettes.

My brother absolutely loves it and everybody comments on it for the look. Only downside is that it takes a bit of time to explain to people how on hearth it actually works the first time :-)

Not worth the money 13 April 2011
By Bel
Great to look at but quality is not there.
My one broken down just after the 2 year John Lewis warranty expired. I have asked Simens to have a look to see if the appliance was worth reparing but unfortunately is not. I never had a toaster breaking down in the past but this one broke down twice during the warranty and than once more after warranty expried. For £99 I would expact more than just 2 years of usage.
