Product Description

The spellbinding sequel to Sidney Sheldon’s MASTER OF THE GAME, one of the most glamorous and suspenseful tales ever told…

It began with Jamie MacGregor, stealing diamonds in Africa. It continued with his daughter, the powerful Kate Blackwell, who grew her father’s company into a world wide conglomerate. Now the story passes to the next generation.

Spanning the decades and picking up exactly where Sidney Sheldon’s bestselling Master of the Game finished, Mistress of the Game follows the Blackwell family as they love, lose, scheme and murder through the 80s up until the present day.

Heart–stopping and glamorous, tense and provocative, Mistress of the Game is the sequel that Sheldon fans have been waiting for…

I bought this book having been an immense fan of the great late Sidney Sheldon, especially his masterpiece Master of the Game. This book, Mistress of the Game, takes on the story of the Blackwell/Templeton family. I have not read any other of Tilly Bagshawe's books and never will. Her style of writing is easy to read but her plots are nonsense, her characters dislikable.... She has shown none of the detail and subletly of Sidney Sheldon, rather she exaggerates her plots and characters. The book doesn't even have a proper ending- no doubt to spin off another sequel. Without being overly dramatic, if you read this book it actually spoils the excellent ending of the original Master of the Game. Utter rubbish.

I bought this book because I loved all Sidney Sheldons books and I assumed that if he had lent his name to it, then it would be that same 'can't put it down' quality. How wrong I was. It was so very boring that I read about 70% of it before flicking to the end, finding out how the story ends, and then giving up. Don't waste your time or money is my advice!!

Tedious Reading 4 Dec 2010
Format:Paperback
Having read all the books written by Sidney Sheldon I must say that I had expected a lot more from this book. It totally lacked the thrilling, edgy, unputdownable elements that are the hallmarks of most of Sidney Sheldon's other books. Instead, I found myself with a book that was boring, did not have any interesting characters and had a rubbish plot. I found Lexi to be a hugely disappointing one-dimensional character whose obessession with Krueger Brent annoyed me to the max! This woman did nothing else but eat, sleep, think and whine about Krueger Brent. Krueger Brent this, Krueger Brent that! My god, didn't she have anything else to do in life? Normally, it takes me 2 days maximum to finish a Sheldon book but this one took me one whole week. I have 'After the Darkness' to read but I wont be breaking my neck to do so. I also agree with other reviewers who feel that Sidney Sheldon's name should not be associated with this book.

Mistress of the Game
I am reading this at the moment. Not as gripping as most of Sheldon's but I will read it to the end.

Started good but chronological events don't stack up
I eagerly started this book last night and on the very first page it states that Lexi Templeton is 41. Then, a few pages later it whizzes back to her birth - in 1984!! Read more
