Since its first appearence in 1987, I played Pirates and then, Pirates Gold in 1993.
This game is even more addictive than Civilization.
It's multi-genre. You've got naval combat, fence duel, seduction, quests for family rescues and maps and of course, strategy all over the game (keeping your crew happy, rise your rank in as many nations as you can and much more).
In this improved version of the 17th year old game. Everything looks, sounds and feels better. So, more addictive than 17 years ago.
Also much funnier with lots of humor.
Play it! You won't be disappointed.

Fun:
While this game is very good the Mac version is very poorly made. Even though my machine is far above the recommended specification the sword fighting scenes slow to a crawl. It's a real shame because the rest of the game is fine and the PC version was without these problems.

Oh boy! What uncomplicated fun. Sail around the Caribbean chasing pirates, seeking their hidden treasure, looking for kidnapped relatives, sinking treasure galleons after relieving them of their cargo, and lots, lots more.
one of the best value for money games I've ever bought. The down side? Your character becomes old, but over a long period of time!

Lose yourself in the charms of this game....
This is a truly fun game, and one that even my wife doesn't mind me playing as she likes to see whats going on in my Pirate World!! Read more
