Beautiful illustrations and finish of the cover with well written introduction to Sicilian cuisine.

The book has a good selection of authentic recipes from the Trapani, Palermo, Agrigento, Caltanissetta, Messina, Enna, Catania, Ragusa and Siracusa provinces. All are easy to follow and use simple ingredients. Whats more, this book is packed with info on each province as well as the history, regional customs and methods of food stuffs usage and preparation. It is beautifully put together with stunning photography. Just to leaf through this book is such a pleasant experience.

It certainly is a must have/ lovely present, worth every penny.

Having just visited Sicily I wanted a book on Sicilian cooking and bought this one hoping it would be what I wanted. It is and more as it is beautifully illustrated with interesting facts and information on Sicily.

Since I have put my hands on stunning Phaidon's "Sicily" book from The Silver Spoon Kitchen series I was very curious how this combo (ice cream and brioche) would taste... Now I know and I must admit I could probably eat it every single day.

But "Sicily" has much more to offer than ice cream in a bread roll. The book is bursting with mouthwatering food images, relaxing landscapes and over 50 sunny recipes and interesting food stories from various provinces of Sicily: Trapani, Palermo, Agrigento, Caltanissetta, Messina, Enna, Catania, Ragusa and Siracusa... I'm particularly interested in the recipes from Ragusa as together with my husband we are big fans of Commissario Montalbano (Inspector Montalbano).
