Yes, as everyone is saying, this is a brilliant mic. But why? It's extremely solid, the sound quality it produces is warm and intimate, and it's great for gigging because you hardly get any feedback from a live system. And this microphone is a bargain. I've had two for several years now, and they're both still in great condition, because things just never break! Mind you, keep it in a box, preferebly in some of the original wrapping to keep the exterior finish looking sexy ;) GREAT :D

After many many years, the SM58 has established itself as the industry standard for live and studio vocal use for a number of good reasons:
* It sounds great with most voices
* It's durable
* It's decent value for money
* It's good at rejecting feedback
* It has become so established and widespread that people know what to expect from it, and how it behaves in a wide variety of settings, taking the guesswork out of things.
The SM58 has become a no-brainer for live stage vocal work and has many other uses as a general purpose workhorse. Buy with confidence.

This is a great mic, undesputably the one you should buy for your home studio or for performing live. Comes with a little bag, but you'll need to buy a cable of some sort.
I've used mine quite a bit recording on my computer, and the sound is crisp and professional.

good mic bit tempermental but still good
