This being my third pair of mid-range price in earphones I can say that they are the best I have had so far.

They are a bit pricey, admittedly. But when you play that favourite track of yours, with the deep bass and the kicking trebles and the punchy mids, and they all come through so clearly, and the tune comes together like some epic audiophile performance, then you turn to your mp3 player and realise it's at 40% volume... the grin you will have will be worth it.

Incidentally this is my second pair of shures and I can say first hand shures 2 year warrantee is incredible. Their customer service alone is worth the extra money.

pricy but great 22 July 2011
By Brian
definitely the best earphones I've owned - I previously had an older Shure model and these ones are definitely a step up (can't remember the model number but they're discontinued - they were about half the price of these). Fantastic sound - although to be honest the bass is slightly lacking, but I guess this is about as good as you get with a single driver. Very comfortable to wear, especially with the foam earpads. Only niggle is that the adapter connecting the earphones to the cable can be noisy if it moves - seems like a great idea, since I replaced the old earphones only because the cable was broken - but I think it affects sounds quality. You don't usually notice it, because once on they generally don't move much - but if you move around a lot - e.g. use these while running or something then you might notice it - otherwise not really a problem

After the cables broke on my SE210's I decided to upgrade based on the strength of a number of reviews.

Wow.

The bass is very very impressive and is the first things that grabs you - all the detail is still there, but much more low end. The build quality is much much higher as well - feels like you're getting what you paid for in build as well as sounds quality.

Also, the cables are much more comfortable and fit round your ear better.

I haven't tried other makes, I'm a serial Shure buyer - these are easily the best I've had yet.

Great sound, fantastic fit...very durable. When these wear out, I think I'll invest in another pair, or the next ones up in price from Shure.

Overpriced
Good headphones but in my view they are overpriced, especially given the extra cost in Europe (the US price of $200 is far more attractive).
