I had a similar model but had problems - crackling sound from one channel. Shure used to boast that they would replace their 'phones, even if out of warranty, if there was a fault not created by the user. But no longer. Shure now say:
"Shure earpieces are non-serviceable items so we will be unable to carry out any repairs for you. We can only replace your earpieces and that is if they were purchased from an authorized dealer, are still covered by the Shure 2 year global warranty and you have a proof of purchase to show this.
If your earpieces are no longer covered then we will be happy to supply you with a new pair under our Service Exchange deal. This is where we take back your faulty earpieces and sell you a brand new pair at a discount off of our retail price".
But that's no good. "Only if bought from an authorised dealer" is very restrictive, and also means that you will have to pay rrp. Getting a replacement pair at a discount direct from Shure also means that you will get a small discount off rrp, whereas you could get a new pair much cheaper elsewhere.
And so another once-great company bites the dust.
