No complaints about delivery, but for the price this lead breaks far too quickly. I bought these earphones because the first thing that tends to fail on most earphones is the lead and at least this one is replaceable without having to throw away perfectly good earphones (which in themselves i'm really happy with), I am on my 4th lead, the cable frays by the ears and it shouldn't in such a short period of time. Also for the price they could embed a memory metal cable that prevents the lead getting tangled. It's the little things that make all the difference. If it had better build quality and design I would be far kinder in my review.

It's also a shame they don't produce a shorter cable that can be used with SE bluetooth headphone remotes/mic.

1.0 out of 5 stars This headphone adapter is awful 10 April 2012
By Robster
I love my Shure headphones, they are the only ones I really use.

However this adapter is truly awful.

It is fine, if all you want to do is control your iPod/iPhone for music content but it is a truly awful solution for making or receiving telephone calls.

It seems to amplify all the noise around you, not only to you but to people you are talking too.

I have not been able to complete a single telephone conversation with anyone without removing the earphone and using the phone normally.

For the price this is truly bad and from an audio company like Shure it is abysmal.

1.0 out of 5 stars DONT BUY THIS 6 Mar 2014
I love my Shure headphones and the the standard cable that comes with them.

However this cable is not up to the same high standard, I have had two replacements of this item since my original purchase and each time they have gone in the same way.

The cable sheathing nearest the earpiece leading up to the MMCX connector is too weak, after a couple of months with moderate use it will split and expose the wires inside.

To be fair to Shure they have changed them every time since my initial purchase with a quick description of the issue and a new cable is sent out. But dont expect that one to be any better.

Love my headphones, HATE this damn cable.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bad quality mic and flimsy feel 12 Mar 2011
Verified Purchase
The good: it controls my iPhone and works with voice control commands.

The bad: it feels cheap, it doesn't have the band that keeps both earphones together when rolling the cable to store in its pouch (so the cable gets entangled quite easily every time I take it out of the pouch).

Also, and critically, the microphone is very bad. The idea of the mic is that you can talk while you're walking down the street or on a bus or anywhere really. Well, it picks up a lot more of the background noise than your voice so people on the other end hear the noise but barely hear your voice.

Not a good purchase. Especially not at 50! I will go for a cheaper option and at worst it will be the same quality (but at a fraction of the price).

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for iPhone 5 July 2011
By Margy
I have a couple of pairs of SE535 and this was the perfect iPhone Mic for calls, great sound and a nice fit, the cables are light and thinner than the stock SE535 and SE425 cables, but I don't notice any loss in quality. A great solution for iPhone calls etc

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well, does not last long enough. 20 May 2014

I've had a few of these and they always develop faults after a year and a half or so.

Hopefully Shure wont change the design of the connector again, making older headphones unusable when these fail.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money! 29 April 2013
By Dottore

Don't waste your money on this lead. As happened to another reviewer, mine frayed at the headphones, and has frays all along the leads. This has only ever been stored in a Shure case and wound loosely around my large hand.

Buy a pair of Etymotic HF3 if you want great sound quality, great build quality and great phone sound quality and save yourself 150+. I had some HF3s but someone on a return flight (in business) from India stole them. I decided to splash out on some SE425s and they're nowhere near as good as the HF3s and constant cable changing for sound or phone use is a pain in the bottom. Now the 45 cable is split, let's see if Shure replaces them. Shure are notoriously bad at customer service, so a further update will be posted later.
