By Candi Says VINE VOICE on 20 July 2009

The fab and shouty Shrag have finally released this album which is a compilation of their singles and B sides. Three girls and 2 blokes, they have a huge influence from early Riot Grrl. Snappy lyrics, shoutiness, girly vocals, yep its Bratmobile all over again. Have never seen them live as they haven't come up this far but hopefully they will. I would recommend Pregnancy Scene, Long Term Monster and Mark E Smith as good 'uns but the rest is just as great. Not a bad track on here. Makes a change from all the indie boy bands out there. Championed by Artrocker and I can see why.

Recommended this album by a friend. By far the best album of the year so far, the lyrics are great and the tunes are really catchy. I especially like 45 45s and Talk to the left. It has really good reviews in Timeout and The Sunday Times, but I think it's even better than the reviews. This band are definately going places......

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the terrible title for this review.
Secondly, I apologise as I cannot resist recommending Shrag cd's - it has become an enjoyable habit.

What can I say other than what I always say about Shrag?
Excellent, not too punky pop tunes, girl / boy vocals (but not as many male vocals as usual) and the crowning glory - Mark E Smith - what a top tune.

Buy this cd and then play it for your friends and family - they will buy you beer and wine for the rest of your days...................
