The only book for success with Native Ponies,

Jenny Morgan is an experienced producer of Native ponies for the show ring and this shows in the text of this book. She writes for the novice producer, but gives valuable tips for the experienced person as well. Starting with a clear description of the various breeds, she goes on to recommend which breed you might buy for any given purpose. She covers the training of the young pony, always bearing in mind his final expected job.The show is described in detail, giving useful information about planning your day for maximum enjoyment and minimum hassle. Details of the classes and how to particiapte in them form a comprehensive section. Care of native ponies at work and at play is covered, together with provisions for old age and illness. The style of writing is user friendly, with non of the formal text book style of many horse books. There is also the odd humerous aside, which ensures that the reader knows that this author is only human! Altogether a book which should be on every horse lover's book shelf.

This book has some very good tips but I want more. To justify buying it more content was needed.We have put some advice into use but felt that much of the information can be got elsewhere in general horse/pony. Looks nice on the book shelf.

showing and producing ponies,

This was agood read and went into different breeds of moorland ponies, however i did find it a bit dissapointing as it needed more information about producing and trimming the ponies also what was required when exhibiting.and what dress you require.I do think it could have gone into it in more depth and less about the different breeds.However a good read.
