Flash 14 Aug 2013

This is another entry in the black-and-white reprint series from DC. I much prefer the Silver Age Flash stories to what is being released nowadays. If you do, too, then this book is for you.
the bronze age ends on a weird note 8 Jun 2013

I greatly enjoyed these stories as a kid, and I was nostalgic but disappointed in reading them as an adult. It was obvious that Carmine Infantino's art was changing, and not necessarily for the better. A thin Flash had gotten thicker, and the joy that had been there no longer seemed to be. But, the Andru art was, in my opinion, totally wrong for this character. Frank Robbin's bizarre stories did not help.

not quite awesome, yet. It is tricky with some DC titles to find the perfect period of writing. This 4th volume is getting close. I expect the 5th volume to be even better.

Not Much Different From Previous Editions 28 Nov 2012
By Harry Young - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The Flash stories collected here are similar to those found in previous editions (volumes 1-3). The stories are mostly one issue long. Barry Allen gets married to Iris. Not as much Kid Flash stories. Overall, it's a good buy for those that want to add to collection of Showcase Presents, if you already have 1-3. But if you are a current Flash fan, maybe this black and white volume of old stories may not suit you. You should stick with new color comics, the new graphic novels.
