Product Description

Book Description

Two novels in the Wolves of Willoughby Chase series combined in a double volume. Both feature Dido`s sister, Is Twite.

Product Description

Is (short for Isabett) Twite is the younger sister of Dido, every bit as spunky and compelling as her older sibling and with the same habit of attracting bizarre adventures. The two unputdownable novels in which she is the heroine, Is and Cold Shoulder Road, are published here in a wonderfully satisfying double volume.

Is, travelling north to find a lost cousin, discovers an underground kingdom where children work as slaves in horrifying conditions, under the rule of the sinister Gold Kingy.

A year or two on, with Simon Battersea now on the throne, her aunt Ruth Twite disappears from Cold Shoulder Road. Is needs all her courage and resourcefulness as she encounters the vicious gang of Merrie Gentry and other alarming forces that are at work across the country.

Dark but brilliant 19 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback
Thrilling and wonderfully written, full of unforgettably eccentric characters - a very dark but moral tale. My daughter (aged 10) and I both love this author and all the Wolves of Willoughby Chase series.

Great Series For Boys 17 Oct 2008

REading the whole gripping amazing series, better than Potter, better than Blyton, excellent as good as Narnia highly recommend for 10 and up boy readers who are struggling to find something to read.

A great new character is. 29 Dec 2011
By Allan Masri - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Is is Dido Twite's little sister. Although small, she is adventurous and fearless. She enjoys telling grownups how to solve their problems. The problems in this book are grave indeed. A greedy industrialist in the North of England (during the reign of James III) has been kidnapping kids from London to work for him as slaves. Is goes north in search of Crown Prince David and discovers the horrors of 19th century coal mines. Is, undaunted, sets about freeing the children and solving a number of other grownup problems along the way.
