Product Description

Product Description

Hugleikur Dagsson is from Iceland. During the winter in Iceland there are only three hours of daylight. During the summer in Iceland there is no darkness. Iceland’s national drink is called ‘Black Death’. Iceland's national dish is putrefied shark meat. In Iceland this book is a cult-bestseller. The questions you should ask yourself is:Should you be laughing at this?

About the Author

Hugleikur Dagsson's silly little cartoons took the Icelandic counter-culture scene by storm when they were initially published as photocopies stapled together by the author himself. Subsequently, the book has become a best-seller in Iceland - and he has produced a play of the book which recently won the Best Play of 2005 award in Iceland's main national newspaper. Hugleikur lives in Reykjavik - and is talk of the town. He is currently working on a musical.

I just bought this book today and started reading it on a tube. Well, I guess people were thinking I must be crazy, because I literally found myself laughing out loud. This is gonna be a classic, so put your hands on it as soon as possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars First sight it's fabulous., 17 July 2006

(REAL NAME)
I've only seen a dozen or so pages from a promo pamphlet, but my word, they are hilarious. True, they're dark humour, in fact very dark, and occaisionlly quite deviant. But fantastic! You need this book,if only so you understand when every t-shirt, card and poster becomes dagsson when this gets published. The question is should you be laughing? To be honest, that underlying guilt that you really shouldn't be, makes them even better. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Naughty naughty, 24 Nov 2006
Before swamping family and friends with `humorous' books about the amount of possessions one is able to place on a sleeping cat without waking it, it is worth noting that there are books such as this with the same puerile sense of fun, but that are actually funny. Icelander Dagsson, with plenty of time on his hands during the long winter nights, has come up with something sharp, vulgar, and excessively entertaining. Dolphin hatred, murderous families, and some wince-worthy stick-figure bullying find space in this sparely illustrated but deeply comical little book.
