About the Author

Hugleikur Dagsson's silly little cartoons took the Icelandic counter-culture scene by storm when they were initially published as photocopies stapled together by the author himself. Subsequently, the book has become a best-seller in Iceland - and he has produced a play of the book which recently won the Best Play of 2005 award in Iceland's main national newspaper. Hugleikur lives in Reykjavik - and is talk of the town. He is currently working on a musical.

Format:Hardcover
I just bought this book today and started reading it on a tube. Well, I guess people were thinking I must be crazy, because I literally found myself laughing out loud. This is gonna be a classic, so put your hands on it as soon as possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars First sight it's fabulous. 17 July 2006
Format:Hardcover
I've only seen a dozen or so pages from a promo pamphlet, but my word, they are hilarious. True, they're dark humour, in fact very dark, and occaisionlly quite deviant. But fantastic! You need this book,if only so you understand when every t-shirt, card and poster becomes dagsson when this gets published. The question is should you be laughing? To be honest, that underlying guilt that you really shouldn't be, makes them even better. Buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Depraved 7 Nov 2006
Format:Hardcover
I never realised I had such a sick sense of humour until I picked up this book. It is depraved to the max and for some reason all my guy friends love it. It explains a lot a things about Bjork anyway.

4.0 out of 5 stars In English at last... 2 Nov 2006
Format:Hardcover
I bought a book by Dagsson in Reykjavik a year and a half ago, because it looked hilarious even though I can't read Icelandic. Now I finally get to find out what all the little people are saying...

5.0 out of 5 stars Naughty naughty 24 Nov 2006
By GRBD
Format:Hardcover
Before swamping family and friends with `humorous' books about the amount of possessions one is able to place on a sleeping cat without waking it, it is worth noting that there are books such as this with the same puerile sense of fun, but that are actually funny. Icelander Dagsson, with plenty of time on his hands during the long winter nights, has come up with something sharp, vulgar, and excessively entertaining. Dolphin hatred, murderous families, and some wince-worthy stick-figure bullying find space in this sparely illustrated but deeply comical little book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes...You should. No question about it! 21 Aug 2006
By DBHoops
Format:Hardcover
Stickmen have never been so funny. If you ever need to know what 24 hrs of darkness at winter over many years does to a man, then this is your answer.

This is a perfect stocking filler for a loved one at xmas or a great birthday present that you'll get loads of enjoyment giving. (If only to see the look on your elderly relatives face when they start reading it!)

Charmingly offensive and laugh out loud funny. So...Should you be laughing at this? Of course you should, no question about it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Emperor's New Clothes 4 Jan 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Having read the 12 reviews for this book,I felt I had to try it,even at the 8.99 price tag.It took me about 5 minutes to finish it,and a further 15 minutes to go back over it try to find the hilarious parts the previous reviewers were describing. It was a fruitless search. However,in the interest of fairness and in case I have suffered a sense of humour bypass,I showed the book to several other friends and colleagues. Not a titter.I think perhaps the price of this book is the funniest thing about it.
