My bathroom sink was terribly slow to drain and gradually getting worse until the water was standing there for DAYS. Tried three chemical unblockers (Mr Muscle, Domestos and Buster) none of which removed or even improved the blockage, plunging with a regular and then an extra large concertina style plunger didnt shift it, neither did a drain snake (though I had to use this without removing the u-bend as it was inaccesible) so finally I started calling round for quotes from plumbers, one of whom (stupidly or kindly) told me he would use OneShot. I googled it and found it was available from plumbers merchants and went out and bought it for 4.99+ VAT on top.
The instructions say pour it SLOWLY, so using both hands I poured about 125ml down the plughole - you have to be careful to try get the stream of acid to pour directly into the drain and not touch your metal work as it will discolour it. I waited the 5 minutes then added 125ml of water and after waiting another 5, flushed it with water. The blockage wasn't gone, but was better. So I tried it again, this time making sure that I dry plunged on the plughole first - without any water in the sink to try to force what water was down there to move so I could get the acid closer to the blockage. I poured in a bit more this time, left it for 10 minutes and then added water.
As soon as I added the water a gurgling sound happened all the way down the pipes and then the water was running down the sink perfectly! I left the tap on for 10 minutes to make sure all the acid was flushed away and out of my pipes. Couldn't be happier - this is the only product I will ever use for blocked drains again and I still have half a bottle left! So happy not to have had to pay a plumber to do exactly the same as I did!
