Format:Audio CD
This is splendid value, and a playing and recording of the highest class. I've always shied away from the Shostakovich Violin Concerto butdecided, following a TV programme, to try it. I watched the DVD first and was impressed with the research. A small glass of wine, a quiet evening alone, my earphones on, I entered into the world of composer and artist with an understanding - little but essential - of their emotion and skill. Wonderful...
