I have read many, so called cookbook, created for our pets. This one is little more than a duplication of what has been written before. I find it difficult to see the reason this book has been touted as the zenith of pet cookbooks, Who ever wrote this book, wrote it from the stand point of trying to feed human food to dogs. An example of things that I found wrong is the recipe for Fiesta Bone. The recipe calls for 1 tablespoon of minced onions. Do the creators of this recipe warn that the onion as an ingredient can be deadly for several breed of dogs. Causing what is called Hienz Body Anemia. In a separate testing, I personal found that not one dog would eat products with cinnamon or nutmeg. A dog, like man is omnivorous. Where is this trait reflected in the recipes of this cookbook. It appears that the author's of this book are trying to convince people that the vegetarian way of life is the way to raise a dog. It will not work. Next, several of the recipes have corn based products as an ingredient. Is there a warning or a word that there is an increasing number of dogs who have developed an allergy to corn base products, and that when these dogs accidently eat the corn based products they have to go through a costly treatment. Next, what is the precentage of dogs who have tried the product produced from these these recipes? How many dogs were involved with the testing, and what were the precentage and acceptance and rejection rate of those animals. No I am afraid it doesn't appear on the surface, that those who put this book together didn't do their home work, and they certainly didn't create their recipe for dogs!

This book is a quick read that held my interest from beginning to end. It's funny and has it's own unique charm. More importantly, however, is the business angle that is interwoven throughout the "tale" (the author's pun, not mine!). This is the story of two guys and their three dogs who started a company on a shoestring and have grown it to a good-sized company. I bought a second copy to give to my brother, as inspiration, who is now starting his third entrepreneurial endeavor. I can't think of a reason why readers and their doggies would not immenseley enjoy this book. I rank this book 5 stars.

My wife brought home this book and loved it. Almost a year later, I picked it up, read it and could not put it down. This is the story of two dog lovers (and three dogs) who start a very unique business from their home and grow it to a national-sized chain. The book was written in a very humorous tone and I can see where any budding entrepreneur would find it a very inspirational story. I know we can speak from experience that our two dogs and our neighborhood dogs have thoroughly enjoyed the recipes that are sprinkled thoughout this book. I would rate this hilarious book 5 paws!
