I started learning Latin about six months ago (using the WONDERFUL 'So You Really Want To Learn Latin' books.)
Then I recently purchased this, thinking that I'd need to make a lot more progress before I could actually read the stories - but I've been pleasantly surprised that this hasn't turned out to be the case.
The initial stories are very easy, but even turning to the final pages of the book, I find I can make a good stab at the meaning.
After my other bedtime reading, I've been working through a story each night before turning out the light. It just takes a few minutes, and it's fun.
None of the stories are longer than a half-page or so, and the material is interesting and varied enough to make me look forward to my nightly session.
The book may be especially useful to anyone working though the Cambridge Latin Course, as the increasing difficulty level of the stories is apparently keyed to that course.
Personally, I've found this little book to be entertaining and a huge morale booster as I continue in my Latin studies. I recommend it strongly to any fellow-beginners!
